During the Italian diaspora of the 1890s, my paternal great grandfather and his brothers immigrated to America from Genoa, Italy. They eventually settled in the town of Alameda where they, and other Italians, set up farms in West Alameda and on Bay Farm Island. This blog will examine the history of those farms.
